2024-25 Graduate Loan Application
Financial aid for Lehigh University’s graduate programs consists mainly of fixed-rate federal student loans through the Office of Financial Aid. Students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program and be registered at least half-time to be eligible for federal loans (6 credits each semester during the academic year, or 3 credits for each summer session).

A Free Application for Federal Student Aid must be filed in order to apply for federal student loans and Graduate students may be eligible to borrow up to $20,500 through this Unsubsidized loan program.  If additional funding is needed, a student can apply for a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan or a private education loan, both of which require a separate application process.  Information on that process can be found on our website.  For information regarding assistantships, fellowships, or other forms of scholarships and financial aid, please contact the department or college in which you are enrolled.

If you have not yet borrowed through the Direct Loan Program, you will be required to complete a new Master Promissory Note (MPN) and complete the Entrance Counseling Session. If you previously borrowed through the Direct Loan Program and signed the Master Promissory Note less than 10 years ago, you will only be required to complete the Entrance Counseling Session for the first year in which you borrow at the graduate level.
