preLUsion is a pre-Orientation experience offered in August for students starting in the fall. preLUsion provides first-year students with an opportunity to explore a topic of their choice and engage with students and staff members who share a similar interest. Although staff members are present for the duration of the program, much of preLUsion is led by student leaders knowledgeable in that field. Not only do these leaders introduce incoming students to their program, but they also serve as a resource for all things Lehigh and are willing and able to answer any questions incoming students may have. preLUsion is an exciting way to jumpstart your Lehigh experience that allows you to move-in early, familiarize yourself with campus, and make connections!
Registration
Registration will open on May 14. At that time, you will be able to register through the Lehigh Student Portal on the Summer Checklist, or the link available on this webpage. If your plans change over the summer, refund requests must be made in writing to fye@lehigh.edu before June 30.
No refund requests will be accepted after June 30, 2024.
Early Arrival Information
Monday, August 19: Check-in from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Iacocca Hall on the Mountaintop Campus
You will move into your fall housing assignment in the morning and your program will begin at 12:00pm. Your schedule will be packed, so you’ll say goodbye to family and visitors then.
Early arrival programs include International Student Orientation, the Lehigh University Summer Scholar Institute (LUSSI), ROTC, and the Marching 97 Band Camp. If you intend to participate in one of these programs, you will not be able to participate in preLUsion, but your early arrival timeline may look similar. Please refer to your program director for specific details.
preLUsion Scholarships
IMPORTANT: If the cost of a preLUsion program is difficult to cover, there are opportunities to receive scholarship money from Lehigh University. Scholarship applications will open May 1, 2024. Students awarded a scholarship before preLUsion registration opens will receive a discount code that they will be able to use when preLUsion opens. The discount code will subtract the amount of the scholarship that is awarded from the total cost of the program. If possible we encourage students applying after preLUsion registration opens, to register to secure a spot in their preferred program, and we will refund the amount of the scholarship if it is awarded. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is June 23, 2024.
