International SOS (ISOS) administers the Lehigh University International Services and Insurance Program. ISOS is the world's largest medical and security assistance company, with more than 6,500 professionals in 24-hour Assistance Centers, international clinics, and remote-site medical facilities worldwide.
The program covers Lehigh faculty, staff and students who are participating in university-sponsored programs or traveling on university-sponsored business outside of the United States. Benefits include medical, security and travel assistance. ISOS also coordinates Lehigh’s medical and travel insurance programs, covered by Cigna Global and Lloyd’s.

Register Your Trip
If you are planning an international trip, please visit the ISOS portal before you leave to register your travel plans. Although registration is not required, this will help facilitate communications in the event of an emergency. When you register, you can also sign up for medical or security alerts.
Access Insurance Coverage
To use the medical, travel or other insurance coverage, call ISOS at 1-215-942-8478. You can call before seeking care or submit a claim for reimbursement after the fact.
Obtain Your ISOS Card
When you travel outside the United States, carry your ISOS membership card to make it easy to get help when you need it. You can print one here, or request a laminated card by emailing studyabroad@lehigh.edu.
ISOS Assistance app for smartphones
When you travel with the International SOS Assistance App on your smartphone, help is just a click away. Whether you have an emergency or just need advice or information on your travel destination, the Assistance App provides you with quick and convenient access to the benefits of your International SOS membership.
Notes on Coverage
ISOS covers Lehigh University faculty, staff and students for the official duration of the program or business activity 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
Personal time before or after the official activity, including intermittent non-official activities, is not covered. Individuals who use ISOS services while participating in personal activities such as side trips that are not sponsored by the university may have to reimburse the university for costs associated with the services they use. You can purchase an individual personal plan to provide coverage for personal travel before or after a university trip or study abroad program.
Traveling companions and family members are NOT covered under the university contract with ISOS. These individuals may purchase their own coverage at a 20% discount.
